Enterprise Vault 11.0.1CHF5 Journal Indexing stopped
Planning on moving to 12 after Christmas but typically on 24 Dec the Exchange Journal has stopped indexing on the current server with EV 11. Can't see any bad events or issues.
If try to syncronise the 5 associated indexes from current journal the last one is always in a state on Inactive. Same for a rebuild. But Verify passes OK and states is read-write. The indexes show their range but they all have an end range.
The indexes and vault stores are not in backup mode. Disk space is OK.
Really baffled.
Think may have made progress. Checked dtrace for Indexing and was in a loop of 'Work item is overloaded' even though the server CPU and Memory was idle. Had to put the latest index volume offline. This time then able to rebuilt it OK, then it created a new Index volume and Indexing resumed with no end value as the lates one.
Not getting specific error but this article mentioned about placing offline if stuck in this inactive state.
