EV 8 SP1 Install

I recently installed the SP1 for EV8 and it corrupted the Message Queue and I had basically had to DR Evault back to v8. Not fun. Any idea why that may have happended and how can I prevent it on the next go round. I havent tried the install since. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks.

    Not sure why you had to roll back just because of a corrupt message queue.  You can remove and re-install this without an issue.  Covered in technote. http://support.veritas.com/docs/284452

    All this MSMQ's are really is a to do list, apart from storage archive/restore really which is the messages in chunks. 

    Very hard to say what may have happend to your message queue, all I can really say is that this is not a common thing that comes into support on an upgrade so think you should be quite safe and was a bit unlucky.

    As with any upgrade good to have a roll back plan and glad to see that you did and it was sucessful.  You are in the minority!!!

    We upgraded to EV 8.1 without issue. Did you insure that the MSMQ was empty prior to performing the upgrade? I understand that this could cause problems if they were not empty prior to the upgrade.
