Evault upgrade from version 10.0.0 to 10.0.3

Hi All,

 

Do you have any guide in upgrading Evault from version 10.0.0 to 10.0.3? Where could I download the 10.0.3 patch?

    Hello RyanKim,

     

    Please check the below document for upgrade instructions.

    Symantec Enterprise Vault 10.0.3 - Release Notes and Upgrade Instructions
     
    Also there has been two CHF which has been released with EV 10.0.3
     
    you may want to have a look on this article
     
    Enterprise Vault 10.0.3 Cumulative Hotfix 2 Release
     
    And to download EV 10.0.3 you can follow the below article
     
    How to Obtain the Installation Download and License Keys for Enterprise Vault.
     
     
    In addition to this if you are on EV 10.0.0 then you can find the serial number from the SLF file which is located under EV Installation directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault\Installed Licenses"
     
    The serial number starts with M and its a 10 digit number which is used to download the Installables from the  FileConnect at https://fileconnect.symantec.com
     
    Lastly i want to inform you that have EV 10 SP4 already realeased if you want to upgrade to the latest version which provides some new features.

    What type of permission/account to use when upgrading EV? Is it the EV service account? Thanks.

    Hi Will,

    Yes, you will need the vault service account since the VSA has full permissions and access to the Enterprise Vault server.

    Take a look at the EV/CA/DA upgrade path, just in case you have CA or DA on your environment:

    Supported upgrade paths for Enterprise Vault (EV), Compliance Accelerator (CA), Discovery Accelerator (DA) and Discovery Collector (DC).

    Before upgrade please take a fullback of all EV Related database by putting EV in backup mode..

    Perform the upgrade.

    If any thing goes wrong.

    Restore the backup of all EV Database. And re-install the EV Binaries of 10.0.0

    Note:

    Make sure you don't remove enterpirse vault from backup mode until the upgrade completes successfully.

    Also keep the EV 10.0. installables handy incase if things go wrong.

    You can open case with symantec if the upgrade fails before you revert back.
