Exchange 2007 to 2013 migration clean up

We have just recently completed our email migration from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. I would like to know how to clean up Enterprise Vault without removing something that I might need. We are unning EV 11.0.1. Guessing I would think that I would removed the Ex2007 server as a target. Remove the Archiving Task for the Ex2007 server (does this remove the msmq's). I'm not sure of what else should be done.

  • first remove the tasks that point to your 2007 servers then remove the targets. the MSMQs will have to be cleaned up manually so be careful when you do that.

  • In regards to the MSMQ, I've done in the past:

Verify all queues are empty (= 0) set backupmode

    Stop EV-services

    Remove all MSMQ's

    Start directory and admin service.

    Start shopping service

    Start indexing service

    Start storage service

    Start taskcontroller service

after a few minutes (I used 10) verify MSMq's have been recreated.
