No access to ExchangeArchivingReports.aspx with new VSA

Hello together,

we are facing a problem in an environment where the vsa got changed recently.

Customer is unable to access the exchange archiving reports with the new vsa.

When accessing the reports over the mentioned url with the old vsa we are able to access them.

With the new vsa we only get the information "You do not have permissions to view the specified page."

We had some trouble changing the vsa as this is a microsoft cluster environment with 2 nodes and the services on the second node refused to start until we re-entered the credentials in the directory properties of the vsa. Since then the services start on both nodes without an error but we are not able to access the reports.

Customer does not want to use Authorization Manager to allow another user access to the reports as they want to view them with the vsa.

We are able to open other pages like clientdiagnostics.aspx and usage.asp with the new vsa without any problems.

Appreciate any idea on that.

  • Does http://localhost/EnterpriseVault/DisplayHtmlReport.aspx come up?

If you add a server does it change the behavior http://localhost/EnterpriseVault/ExchangeArchivingReports.aspx?ExchSvr=EXCH1

  • accessing /displayhtmlreport.aspx has not been verified yet - Will requested that but I am sure we'll get the same result.

Adding the exchange server produces the same access denied message.

  • Is this article followed to change VSA - https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.TECH48035 ?

Does deployment scanner show any errors related to VSA permissions?

  • Is it worth a try to give the vsa the messaging administrator role?

tested this in my lab and at least didn't get any other problems.
