is this happening for all users? i would try to reinstall the OWA components on the Exchange Servers. if that doesn't help then enable logging on the owa config file and you'll get better insight into what type of error is happening when you try to open an archived item.

I believe that 560 Shopping error is the issue. I have tried adding both permissions for both OWA Anon user and authenticated users to the shopping directory on the EV server. 

What happens if you create a shopping basket and do a restore through browser search, so not using OWA or an external connection.

If that doesn't work it's not really related to OWA but something else.

Are all the permissions sorted on the Shopping Service disk location?

You may wish to dtrace it, as you do the retrieval...... it might show why you're getting the 560 returned.

Good suggestion - found the below when dtrace the shopping service....

34 12:56:56.609  [9720] (w3wp) <6740> EV~E Event ID: 5218 The Retrieval Service on computer vaultserver1.xxx.xx is not running. The Shopping Service cannot restore any baskets until the Retrieval Service is running. |
 

Also ran a DTrace on the Retrieval Service on the same error identified.
