Provisioning Group Order

Hello

If there where more than one provisioning group, which one should include "whole exchange org"? the last, or the first number? Is there a possibility to change the order?

Thanks
Norbert
  • Hi,

Whole Exchange should be last. The way this works is that rule 1 is run, then 2, then 3 etc. If you have whole exchange as first, none of the other rules will have an effect. (like different archiving rules)

Moving the provisioning you rightclick on the Provisioning Groups in the left window, then properties. You then will see the provisioning groups you have. Select one, you see button 'move up' or 'move down'

There is a document somewhere about Granular Provisioning.

  • General rule is that you set them up from Specific to General.  That is User to Group to OU to Whole Org (for example).

Think of it like firewall rules.  They are processed from the top down and as soon as your user has a match, it stops, even if the same user exists in a group/ou/whole org underneath it.  The first one it matches on is the one used for assigning policy, etc.
