SP2 Install

Hi. We are attempting installing SP2 OWA extensions on our front-end and back-end Servers. The Servers are running Exchange 2003 SP2 on Windows 2003 SP1. If the patch is exploded to its default folders, we get "the parameter is incorrect" when running setup.exe. If we change the name of any of the folders we get an NTVDM error. Does anyone know how to get around this?

Thanks

  • I would try to run setup -z. It disable some memory checks whenyou run the executable. Sometimes you run into problems if you are using the /3GB switch.

Also perhaps the binaries are corrupt, you can try to download them again.
  • This can happen when the setup.exe and other install files are too far deep in the directory structure... try creating a folder like C:\temp, copy the extracted data to this folder (moving it up higher in the directory structure) and then run the setup.exe.
  • Yeah,
Remember you also need to run it locally on the server itself, not from a share.

  • We solved this by moving the Server folder up two levels, and using the local admin account, rather than a domain admin account.
    Thanks for all your help
