Unable to launch Administration Console as Administration
Could not connect to Enterprise Vault Directory on <ourEVServer>
The account you are using does not have sufficient privileges or is not in a role that allows you to administer this Enterprise Vault installation.
I have tried adding the domain Administrator account to security for the Directory database, but still get the same message.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be very much appreciated!

You need to use Roles Based Adminstration
1. Log in as the EVAdmin user and open the VAC
2. Right click "Directory on [YourServer["
3. Click "Authorization Manager
4. Browse to "Enterprise Vault -> Role Assignments -> Power Administrator"
5. Right click in the right window and go to "Assign Windows Users and Groups...."
6. Add your user that you want to access the VAC
7. Go to File -> Exit
8. You will be returned to the VAC, press Yes on the "Do you want to save the Authorization Store to the Directory Database?"
9 You will then be told you need to restart the VAC
10. Close the VAC and save the changes, log out and back in as your regular user and try again
After this, read the Administrators Guide on how to use RBA and understand the implications of the different users such as Power Admins etc
