NetBackup 5230 Appliance Upgrade

Hello all

I have a NetBackup Appliance 5230 3.0 with NBU 8.0 and I will do the upgrade to 3.1; but is my first time working with this appliance, so I need a manual or the step by step for this activity.

    Antonio,

    May I know why you are upgrading to 3.1 and not 3.2 or 3.3.0.1?

      Hi Sanjay

      A partner say me that NBU 8.2 version has yet problems with the "certificates" (I don't work yet with this version so I don't know if this is totally true or not) and the 8.3.x.x is the most recently so I always am in the "most recently-1" version, so for that I believe that my option is 3.1.

      What do you advise me? Do you have a guide or the step by step process for the upgrade?

        I'd be curious what is meant by "problems with certificates".  There aren't any problems -- certificates work and work well to secure the NBU environment.  The transition to them can be tedious, I would agree with that, but the solution works.  You need to make sure your name resolution is working properly and that you read the Security Guide and you understand how the certificates work before implementing.  If you can't move to 3.3.0.1, I'd move to 3.2 at least.  Take a look at the Appliance Upgrade Guides as well for the version you're upgrading to.
