AS400 & NBU

We've been asked by our DEV team to research backing up a AS/400 environment using NBU.  By the time we would do this we would be on NBU 7.X.X.  First off can NBU backup a AS/400 environment effectively?  Any doing it now?  Is it stable, any kinks or troublesome, etc..?

    Currently, Symantec NetBackup does not have a client that can be installed on the AS/400 platforms nor are there current plans to develop one.

    There exist no AS/400 client in Netbackup. I don't think there is one on it's way.
