Backup Problem.

Dear All,

Need solution...here is the scenario..

Master : 6.5 windows ....its the robot control host.

Now, I have a drive AAA which is having problem where...

It has two paths configured...for path1 bakps working fine..for path2 (it has NDMP host configured)  it has problem from where NDMP backups run...

The job keep in mounting status and eventually fails as robot operation failed...

This is what ltid log file says...

21:15:24.805 [6732.2208] <16> open_ndmp_device: cannot open ndmp device <NDMP DRIVE PATH>, error code 7 (NDMP_IO_ERR)
21:15:24.805 [6732.2208] <2> really_tpunmount: tpunmount'ing E:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\db\media\tpreq\DRIVENAME

Thanks.

  • Maybe good idea to double-check device access on NAS filer. Run this command on master server:

    tpautoconf -probe <NAS-host>

    Repeat of my previous post:

PLEASE upgrade your NBU environment to a supported 7.1 or 7.5 version.
ALL NBU 6.x versions reached EOSL in October last year.

  • G.S., are you saying that you are using an unpatched version of NBU 6.5?

According to TECH67896, The formal resolution to this issue is included in the following patch release:

  • Intresting...correctly pointed out...

tpautocnf showing other drive for which backups are running fine...

But not showing the affaceted drive...

how should i proceed...Need to reconfigure..???

    Thanks.

  • perfect

Re-configuring device many times helps. (though bit of annoyance, but worth resolving issue)

Give a try (requires daemons to be recycled, so check when you have free window to do it)

  • Issue resolved after reconfigure and reboot of server.

    Thanks Maria and Jack :)
