no, it is not possible to make it a single job. This is the way catalog backups work to have the parent and the 3 child jobs.

As revaroo says, it cannot be made a single job.

As a matter of interest, why on earth does this matter, NBU using hot catalog backups (since ver 6.0 onwards) has always worked this way.

What makes me curious about your post is why this is an issue for you?

You are not new to NBU and this has been how hot catalog backup has worked all along (since NBU 6.0).

From Martin's explanation above, you can see that the 3 child jobs are doing totally different things. 
Why would you want them to be one job?
How will you troubleshoot if one of the tasks (all in one job) fails?

Good point about the troubleshooting - it's definately betetr that these jobs a separate, that way if there is an issue, it's usually pretty simply to see which one of the 3 jobs has had an issue, which in turn removes 2 possibilites from the problem.
