Netbackup 6.5.6 Catalog Backup Errors

    Consultancy would be avaiable, I think via a partner though the cost I suspect would be quite high - usual IT consutacy rates I suspect.

    Where abouts are you (country wise) ?

    I think this is looking like a reinstall and cat recovery - but from a time before you had the issue, but without deleteing netbackup\db\images (make copy then copy back to same location after reinstall) - then nbcc after that to clear up ...

As your NBDB backup isn;t working, for steps 'nbdb_backup' - I'd stop the services and just copy the DB files to a safe location

1) Shutdown the netbackup processes. PBX may stay running.
2) Once all services have stopped, start only the ASA Service
# bpup -e SQLANYs_VERITAS_NB
3) While only ASA server is started, perform the following:
# nbdb_admin NBDB -validate
# nbdb_admin NBDB -validate -full 
4) Restart NetBackup processes 
a. # nbdb_backup -dbn NBDB -online <directory, i.e. c:\tmpdbsym> -truncate_tlog (create dir first)
b. # nbdb_unload -rebuild -verbose 
c. # nbdb_admin -reorganize
d. # nbdb_unload -rebuild -verbose
5) Shutdown the netbackup processes. PBX may stay running.
6) Once all the services have stopped, start only the ASA Server
a. # bpup -e SQLANYs_VERITAS_NB
7) While only ASA server is started, perform the following:
nbdb_admin NBDB -validate -full


8) Shutdown NBU processes. Follow normal upgrade procedure to 7.1
9) After upgrading, ensure NetBackup processes are down.
10) Once all services have stopped, start only the ASA Service.
a. # bpup -e SQLANYs_VERITAS_NB
b. # nbdb_admin NBDB -validate -full
