Netbackup Deduplication Catalog removed

Hi All,

 

I have a Win2k8-Master Server (7.7.2) and Win2k8-Media Server Deduplication Pool (7.5).

The Deduplication was installed with  2 partitions : 1 for DATA, 1 for CAT

In order to make some free space and without knowing what it was, the CAT partition was deleted...

So now there is no catalog for the dedup data on the other partition.

 

Is there a way to regenerate it ?

    All I can suggest is to contact Support for assistance.

    The way I see things, you will have to start from scratch.
    Hopefully all dedupe backups have been duplicated to another destination (remote dedupe or tape).

    PS:
    I have moved this post to the NetBackup forum as this is not related to separate PureDisk software that has been discontinued in the meantime.

    Hi Ricard. Ouch! Have you setup a backup policy to protect the dedupe catalog? --jakob;
