Bplist on same server with same user:

oraeb3@sapeb390: /oracle/EB3 % /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bplist -t 17 -R -b -l /oracle/EB3/oraarch/EB3arch1_6619_788438682.dbf

oraeb3@sapeb390: /oracle/EB3 %

I dont find my Problem here.

I do have several other SAP Instances that are running well and where i dont have any Problem while restoring.

Anyone able to help me ?

cu Ingo

  • Restore the file as root if it urgent:

    bprestore -t 17  /oracle/EB3/oraarch/EB3arch1_6619_788438682.dbf

Else put VERBOSE = 5 in bp.conf and make sure /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/backint exist and the directory has 777 permissions. Retry the operation and attache the debug log as an file to a post.

  • The "bprestore -t 17 /oracle/EB3/oraarch/EB3arch1_6619_788438682.dbf" gives a "SAP Policy restore error (2822)"  ???    %-(

  • From log file:

Does the system uses/has multiple network interfaces and names ?. Are the client name in bp.conf and .util file  EXACTLY (including domain) the same.

    /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bplist -t 17 -X -U -B -R -l -b -S dsnnbus1 -C dsneb3 -keyword "" -s 1369049368 -e 1369049368 /

Does the above bplist command work if yo run it by hand.

  • First.  THANX a lot.

I figured out to restore the File with bprestore.

That does not solve why not to restore via SAP Tools.

    Will check your entries next.

Just wanted to give you feedback that i i'm back in Game.    ;-)

  • Glad to hear :-)

Please share what you did. We may have another user tomorrow with the same issues ;-)

  • Your bprestore got it !

I know every Backup was correct.

    I saw everything correct with 'bplist -t 17 ...' and 'bpimagelist ...'  .

    Following bprestore was succesful:

    bprestore   -t 17

                    -C <clientname>

                    -D <clientname>

                    -S <mastername>

                    -p <policyname>

                    -L <logfile>

                    -s mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss

                    -e mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss

                    <logfilename>

With some more time i maybe able to strip the CMD down to some shorter way.

Now i will search, why my brtools dont work.

Thanx again to Nicolai. He gave me the Tip to try the Restore with 'bprestore -t 17 ...'
