    Fixed it!

    After spending many hours banging my head against the wall, I got a NetBackup guy in to help out. He ran NBDNA which said I had some mismatch with reverse lookups (because I had two domains I had doubled up to cover my bases with name resolution). So even though forward lookups were fine, it didn't like mismatching reverse lookups. Once I cleared all that up and restarted the services it is now all working. Thanks for everyone's input.

Try to clear host name cache by running "bpclntcmd -clear_host_cache", then check again.

If failed again, please post output of following commands on both master and client(you must run bpclntcmd 8 times).

  • bpclntcmd -hn <master server name>
  • bpclntcmd -hn <client name>
  • bpclntcmd -ip <master server ip>
  • bpclntcmd -ip <client ip>
