Tape drive configuration issue
SAN team completed the zoning.
we could see the drive from OS level.Drive is visible in device manager.But we could see nothing under scan -tape?
Tape drive:IBM LTO5
Netbackup version:7.1
...
The main things to check are:
Tape library is OK - reboot if neccesary
Zoning is correct
If the HBA is set to use persistent bindings then add the new drive in
I suspect that none of the above is the issue as Windows sees it in device manager - however it may actually be having problems communicating somewhere so check the speed and topology shown by the SAN switch and tape library in case it not using a suitable protocol and also swap the fibre cable from the drive to the SAN switch (it is also worth trying swapping the connectors around in one end of the fibre cable in case it is reversed)
If Windows sees it then NetBackup should see it, at least after a reboot of the media server
