Unable to See Exchange Backup since moving to DAG

I am running Exchange server 2013 CU 8 on Windows 2012 R2 and have been backing it up using Netbackup 7.5.0.7 on Windows 2008R2 using a VMware Policy with MS EXchange database option.

Since 27th May we have implemented a DAG and introduced passive mailbox database copies on another server.

Now despite the backups completing successfully, the snapshot, the application state capture step and the actual backup. I am no longer able to find these backups when I try to browse for them. So unfortunately I am unable to recover any mailboxes since May 27 when the DAG was introduced.

Please if anyone has any ideas as to how I can recall these backups, they will be most gratefully welcome.

Or are these backups gone forever, never to be seen again?

    IMHO - IPV4 vs IPV6 is a different topic.

    To be able to browse for backups, the only client name that is applicable is the one that was in Clients tab of the backup policy at the time that the backup was taken.

    Which Client name was used before to perform Exchange backups?

    Bear in mind that if you browse from any of the DAG members, the local hostname will be sent to NBU master to request backups for.

    There are some additional steps that need to be taken for DAG backups and restores.

    Such as these steps in NBU for Exch Admin Guide:

    To configure the Exchange hosts for a backup that uses Granular Recovery Technology (GRT)

    1 On the master server, open the NetBackup Administration Console.
    2 Select NetBackup Management > Host Properties > Master Servers.
    3 In the right pane, double-click on the master server.
    4 Select Distributed Application Restore Mapping.
    5 Click Add.
    6 Provide the name of the application host and the name of the component host.
    The application host is the client name in the policy, or the DAG name if
    applicable in a VMware backup. The component host is the client that needs
    access to the backup image. See Table 5-1 and Table 5-2

    Share the follwoing command output

    bppllist <policyname> -U

    and what are you specifying in Specify the Netbackup Machines and Policy Type?

    I was specifying the masterserver for the server to use for backup and recovery and then the exchange server for source and destination client.

    The policy type for restore was MS-Exchange Server

    What was Client name previously (before DAG) used in Policy for Exchange backup?

    It was like exchsvr2 ?

    Or exchsvr2? 
    Or exchsvr2.FQDN?
    Or Exchsvr2?
    Or EXCHSRV2?

    NBU is case sensitive. All of the names listed above are different hostnames.

    Which name do you see as folder name under ...netbackup\db\images on the master?

    That's interesting as there is a exchsvr2 and a FQDN such as exchsvr2.<domain>, but what I did see was one for Exchange-DAG which I didn't know about.

    If I use that as the client source and destination I can see my backups, but unfortunately I can't browse any further down from Microsoft Information Store. Whereas normally I would be able to select one of the mailbox databases under this.

    Is backup still on disk? Or duplicated to tape in the meantime and disk copy expired? GRT backup must be on disk to browse for individual items. Also verify that your user name has full admin rights on Exchange.

    Back up is to tape, we are not trying to set up GRT or individual item restore, just at mailbox database level restores.
