You may go through these Steps, I hope it will be helpful
NetBackup 7.7.3 Upgrade Steps 1. As suggested earlier Please go through SORT to figure out all the details about the Upgrade 2. Download the NetBackup 7.7.3. NetBackup now gives complete installation pkg instead of base pkg and patch so we can upgrade directly to 7.7.3 without base package install of 7.7 3. Read Release Notes 4. Read 7.7 Upgrade guide 5. Run NBCC 6. Open a case with Veritas to review the NBCC output, if Required 7. Take a print of the Upgrade Steps and keep handy 8. Keep license Key handy just in case asked during the setup or after upgrade 9. Save registry of master and media servers if this is Winows environment 10. Make sure enough space is available for upgrade on drives of each server we are upgrading 11. Start Catalog Full Backup prior to Upgrade. Start Catalog backup 20 hours prior (or depending on your size) to upgrade to complete well in time before you upgrade 12. Beginning with NetBackup 7.7.3, the master server includes an active web server to support critical backup operations. The web server operates under user account elements with limited privileges. These user account elements must be defined locally on each master server. You must create these required account elements before installation. More information is available: https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000081350 13. Disable the OpsCenter Data Collection just before the upgrade, if you have OpsCenter 14. Deactivate all NetBackup policies 15. Disable all storage lifecycle policies (SLPs) 16. Shutdown NetBackup on all the NetBackup Servers 17. First Upgrade the Master Server 18. Run the installation package using browser.exe as administrator and follow the upgrade instructions 19. Second Upgrade the media servers 20. Take the screenshot where required during the upgrade process 21. Once Upgrade is successful on the Master, test if all the process are running 22. Run a test backup manually and check if it completes. Run few administration command and check the output and verify it matches as expected 23. Test a Restore post Upgrade from file system backup 24. Enable OpsCenter Data Collection
