The wording in the pop-up is as follows:
This package version is 7.000.0011.1019. The exisiting version is 7.1.2011.0203. Preventing Install.

What version is listed in regedit under?
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veritas\NetBackup\CurrentVersion\VERSION

I was just looking at that, 7.1...
But if I'm reading the pop-up correctly it seems that it is stating that the package I am executing the browser from is at 7.0? That is were my confusion comes in...
I doubled check and the two files I downloaded yesterday were in deed the 7.5 Beta 2 files, used the copy command to join the two into one zip file and then used .7zip to unzip it so I could attempt the upgrade.

Upgrades are not supported for a Beta. Do not install Beta into a production environment.

Was not going into a production environment.. This is my development/playground environment. All other Beta's that I have tested for Netbackup allowed for an upgrade. It would be nice to know that once 7.5 comes out an upgrade from 7.1, 7.1.0.1 or 7.1.0.2 would work.
Is an upgrade path in the works? And will it be available before the FA/GA software is out?

NetBackup 7.5 FA/GA will support it, but Beta does not. Beta's typically do not.

Beta 1 did support upgrade from 7.1, im wondering if this is a mistake in the package of Beta 2, or would it be possible to upgrade from beta 1?

So I need to start from scratch? How can I test restore of data that has been created in earlier versions of NBU? Can I restore my catalog from a NBU 7.1 environment to a fresh copy of 7.5?
