Error EC8F1C50 during file and folder backup

when making a file and folder backup every backup fails with the following error:

Description: Error EC8F1C50: Cannot create file backup for job: File Backup. Error E7D1001D: Unable to open '//./SymantecSnapshot1/filename.ext'. Error EBAB03F1: Access is denied. Error E7D10049: Device SymantecSnapshot1 appears to be offline, disconnected, or otherwise unavailable. Error E4BC0004: Unable to backup file filename.ext.

    Is the drive you are trying to backup encrypted by any chance?

    What version/build of BESR do you have?

    as far as we know the drives are not encrypted. we run besr 8.5. the os is windows 2000 server.

    Are you able to double check and confirm that the drives are not encrypted?

    And specifically what build of 8.5 do you have (check in help-about)?
