Backup doesnt continue/finish until message to remove tape is accepted

We are running Veritas BackupExec 9.1 Build 4691 with SP 2 installed on a Windows 2000 Server.
The Tape drive is a Compaq SDLT 320 on an Adaptec 29160 controller. The latest Veritas drivers for the tape drive are installed.
We are backing up a large amount of data at a 2nd site using above configuration. The employees at this site do not have the right to log on at the machine and only change the tapes whenever necessary. The amount of data requires 2 tapes. When the first tape is full, the tape is ejected and a BE notification is diplayed (when logged on to the server).
Problem:When the 2nd tape is inserted the backup doesnt continue until someone logs on to the server, starts the BackupExec front End and clicks on the "Ok" button of this message. The same problem occurs when the job is finished. The job stays in status "in execution" and no other job can be executed until someone accepts this message.
As no one on this remote site doesnt have the right to log on to the server and we do not want to "click away" this message every day: Is there a way to "auto accept" this messages or to suppress them at all, so that backup will continue automatically when the next tape is inserted?
We did not have this problem with the former tape drives: Compaq SDLT 220 and HP Surestore VS80. Maybe there is a driver including this "feature"?

  • That is just the way that BackupExec is written

You can either remove "Eject on End" from the job description or see http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/192055.htm to setup an AutoResponse to that request
