VSP failed to load

When I upgraded from 9.0 to 9.1, the Advanced Open File Option would fail to load with the System Log error of:

Event ID: 7026
Source: Service Control Manager
Type: Error
Category: None
Description:
The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
VSP

This server is backed up via the Remote Agent. If I do not install the Advanced Open File Option, I do not get this error message.

Any help would be appreciated.

  • Hello,

Uninstall completely AOFO on this server and reinstall it. For reinstallation use the RANT32 file on the media server.Refer to the foll technote for the same:

  • I've tried reinstalling it several times, but always through the install wizard in Backup Exec. Would doing it from the command prompt do something different?

I have the AOPO running on two other servers without any problems.
  • Hello,

    As you have installed AOFO,
    -- check under c:\winnt\system32\drivers:
    If VSP.Sys is present.

-- Where you used to have aofo installed before the upgrade?
-- Was it on the remote server?
-- If so, we suggeste you to reinstall aofo on remote server but before that remove remote agent from the remote server.
