Mail archiving

Guys

I have recently upgraded from V3.7 to V6.3 by painfully restoring all mail back into exchange and fully utilising the facilities offered in Ex 2k3 SP2 then decommisioning 3.7

I have sucesfully got the 6.3 server up and running and would like to piecemeal over the next few days enable the user archives and run the archive process.

I have tested a number of accounts and there are some messages being archived but not many. Messages that were prevoiusly restored and quite old > 1yr are staying put.

I suspect that messages restored from the old vault system upon restore somehow stamp a different timestamp on the message??? - anybody know more about this.

I dont want to wait 6 months for the first archive with the huge exchange environment and ideally would like to have all users fully functional as they used to be in the new year.

Thanks

  • Hi

See this topic which talks about registry keys you can use to tell EV to ignore information about when the item was previoulsy restored.
