Backup Exec System Recovery 2010 End of Month Lock Up

We are using Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery 2010 v 9.0.3.40369.  Every month our automatic backup jobs fail to complete and it locks our server to the point of having to do a cold server start....

No solution yet as we don't know a cause. At what point (%) during the backup does the server lock? Do you see any error messages? If you could provide a few more details, we could have a place to start.
