This server has a backup system in place in case server a fails. I've have been trying to restore an oracle level 0 backup that was taken on server a to server b. Both servers have netbackup installed and are connected to the same VTL so server b has access to the tape where the backup was written to. Whenever we try to run the restore we get the following in the dbclient logs: <16> int_StartJob: ERR - Backup file not found in NetBackup catalog I cannot figure out how to get server b to "see" the backup. We are setting the NB_ORA_CLIENT variable to the old server name but still no luck. I have even run a bpmedia -movedb to transfer ownership of the tape to server b but it continues to give that error. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Stephen PST migration question We have started to do some PST migration tests with EV for exchange. For this test we have selected handful of users and gave them seperate email accounts for this test. I have enabled some of them for client driven migration. My question is: Once they've been enabled and logged into their test email accounts (I have verified that EV has started migrating some of the PSTs); do they need to stay logged into that test account for the migrations to complete or can they log back into their normal email accounts? I have verified with them that they see all the additional EV functionality in outlook when logged into their test accounts, but not when logged into their normal accounts. Thanks, Steve Re: notify scripts I was able to get it to work using the bpend_notify script and by splitting each stream into it's own policy (there were only 4 of them). I created a bpend for each policy to call the full backup providing that the diff completed with a status of 0. I was not aware that the backup_exit_notify only worked on the master and that information was helpful. Thanks. Re: notify scriptsUnfortunately we need to have multiple streams running at once for the client due to the way we have the backups setup. I think I can get the backup_exit_notify to work (we've used a similar technique before). My issue is that it doesn't look like the backup_exit_notify.cmd is even being called at all on this server. Right now it's just the default script that comes with netbackup. However, the output file that it's supposed to create (BACKUP_EXIT_CALLED) is not being created and I can't, for the life of me, determine why that is. We are running 6.0 MP5 on a windows 2003 client/san media server.notify scriptsI am trying to run 2 consecutive backups and am trying to determine the best way to accomplish this. I am running a differential backup that starts via the NBU scheduler. I want to start another FULL backup once this diff completes. The policy is for a windows SAN media server and it's multi-streamed. I think the best way to do this would be by using one of the notify scripts. My issue is I don't know whether to use bpend_notify or backup_exit_notify. Anyone able to help?SolvedNetBackup 6 ODBC connectionHello, I was wondering if anyone knows if I can create an ODBC connection the EMM database on a netbackup master server for reporting purposes. I am currently pulling failure data directly from the activity monitor in the java GUI and exporting it to a text file on a daily basis. I then import this data into excel for some manipulation etc. My manager is wondering if we can make this more of an automated task and use a tool like Brio to connect directly to the EMM database and pull the report that way. Does anyone know if this sort of thing is possible and can point me in the right direction on some documentation or anything? Thanks, Steve
