Search with Multiple AND and OR
Hello. I am trying to find items with one search that matches the following in English: subject or content (blue and car) or (red and car) or (yellow and car) or(blue and boat) or (red and boat) Tried the following in DA: subject or content: blue red yellow +car subject or content: blue red +boat When I run this search it seems like it is finding only those items that match on car AND boat or blue or red or yellow. Thanks in advance. Analytics is NOT enabled for the case. -Tammy449Views0likes2CommentsMeta Data and regular expression seach in DA
Hi , I have EV 10.0.4 deployed, and have Journal archiving enabled (Exchange 2010). On top of that I have Discovery Accelerator 10 installed. My question is around search, in partiular, can it do the types of searches that are listed below:- 1) Document Metadata searches: So if you right click on a word document, and select the Details tab, would a DA search find any of the information there ? 2) Regular expressions search Can searching use regular expressions, so for instance can I search for National Insurance numbers, which are in the following format:- <letter><letter><number1><number2><number3><number4><numbe5r><>number6<letter>, such as AB123456P I don't need to find a particular NI number, but would like to find ALL occurances of NI numbers, ie any occurance of <letter><letter><number1><number2><number3><number4><numbe5r><>number6<letter>? In the same way as that I would want to check for credit card numbers, which is a something like 4 sets of 4 numbers Any help would be appreciated regards Jim786Views0likes3CommentsDeduplication in Discovery Accelerator
Hi- I am running Discovery Accelerator 9.0. I am searching for 4 email addresses in the To/From fields. The search is limited to a journal archive. My question is, when the search results are presented, are they deduplicated automatically? The search results returned 109,000 items. Does Discovery Accelerator, behind the scenes, perform deduplcation during the search process? I've read a ton of material, but its not clear to me whether deduplication is something that I have to elect to do, or if it is done by default.Solved1.1KViews0likes2CommentsBack Track Exported Item to Archive and Mailbox Folder
I'm hoping this is a simple question. We have DA 9.0 running on a windows server 2008 R2 box with the client on a windows xp sp3 box. We are looking to trace an exported item back to the Archive from which it was pulled as well as the folder from which it was pulled. i.e. Archive jmcsweeney in sent items. Either I'm missing something or we need to trace it by the item ID or the SaveSetID. Also if there is a flag somewhere that I can set to sho this level of granularity. Any assistance is much appreciated.Solved643Views0likes4CommentsDiscovery and Compliance Accelerator 10x - Describe your Features
Hello Guys, Well, I need to prepare a WorkShop to describe in company (legal departament) the functions of Enterprise Vault Compliance and Discovery Accelerator 10x. I have seen some guides about it but I can't understand to develop a workshop. I would like to know if anyone has any extra material that could help me to do it. For example: E-learning, Power Point, PDF and etc. Thanks so Much.Solved893Views1like4CommentsDoes anyone have a list of non-indexed attachments?
We are building a document that shows what type of attachments are not indexed by Enterprise Vault and are therefore not searched when using Discovery Accelerator. We use DA when we are subpoened for efiles and may need to show a court which types of files may not be produced when searched. The only document I've seen from Symantec uses generic terms like it cannot search within encrypted emails or audio files...we're looking for something a bit more specific...such as PDF or image files, etc. Obivously we can't account for every type of file but if we can get a good list of common files that would be helpful. Thanks!Solved1.1KViews2likes1CommentHow to write rule? to deduplicate prior to exporting.

Using EV DA 10 I've been asked to perform a search as follows (alpha* OR beta*) AND (gamma* OR delta*) can this be done as a single line? I believe the two line equivalent would be alpha* beta* +gamma* alpha* beta* +delta* Also using analytics or otherwise can a within X words proximity search be achieved? I believe NEAR is fixed at 50 words which is quite broad. Whereas wildcards would need to compass all distance variants. i.e. a * b , a * * b , etc. Thanks in advanceSolved545Views0likes2CommentsDiscovery Accelerator Removing\deleting emails from archives
Hi I'd like to know if DA can remove emails from EV once it has completed a search. The scenario is that our company needs to seperate emails with particular content into a different archiving solution for compliance reasons. So we can find all the relevant emails via DA across the user base and export these into a PST. But I then need to remove these emails from EV so the export becomes the only copy which I can then import into a different system. So can DA delete the emails from the archives itself or do I need a different approach once I've exported all the necessary information? many thanks KeirSolved781Views0likes3Comments
