HTTP OPTIONS Method
Hi all, After a security scan, recommendations appeared on the master server to disable the “HTTP OPTIONS Method”. Veritas document 100060605 recommends doing this by setting: C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache24\Conf\hpptd.conf… But, in my case, C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\ is missing. How can I disable the “HTTP OPTIONS Method” in this case? Andrii349Views0likes3CommentsLooking for steps/procedures for upgrading BE21 to BE22
Looking to upgrade from BE 21 to BE 22, not able to find any documentation. Is it a simple as an update ugprade? Are there any particular steps/procedures to make sure it goes smoothly? I know licensing changes, and SQL is different. What impact does this have?2.1KViews0likes8CommentsAn error occurred while processing a B2D command
Intermittently(on a daily basis, not time specific) i get a B2D command error . The storage device Nas(QNAP TS1685) has the latest firmware installed, the media server is fully up to date(latest backup exec version and fully updated windows). I even rebuilt the array type on that NAS which made no difference. Played around with changing the network switch MTU between 1500 and 9000, which made no difference. I trunked and untrunked connections, also made no difference. I even installed a secondary backup exec media server onto a VM that runs through a different switch. Both servers render the same intermittent error. I did a continuous ping to the nas, and it never drops, even while backup exec throws these intermittent errors. I even changed the storage device to only allow 1 concurrent write session : makes no difference. There is more than enough space on the shared drives. Like i said, sometimes the backup works after retrying a few times. It also does not happen on the same backup set. Totally random. Sometimes after several manual retries, the backup will start fine and even complete. But often, we end up with the below error in the event log. The deduplication option was the worst. The dedup storage device(the same nas device as mentioned above) would be online a few hours and then go offline in backup exec, even while the ISCSI connected drive is hundred percent fine and accessible via windows. This happens on the physical server(Central administration server) and on the VM(secondary backup exec server). We gave up on dedup, because backup exec requires a server restart to reconnect the drive(service restarts didn't work). It doesn't seem to care that it is perfectly fine and working in windows. Like i said, no ping drops, no windows connection drops mentioned in the iscsi event log. Just backup exec that decides randomnly to put the device in an offline state. I then started playing around with TCP/UDP offload settings on the media server network adapter. Switched off all offload settings on the network adapter. Made no difference. I'm using NetBackup 10.2 and in the UI I typically go to Backup, Archive, and Restore, click on the Restore Files TAB and set my start and end date appropriately and then I can Restore files from a recent backup. I've recently started experimenting with the REST endpoint /admin/manual-backup to do a Backup but I can't find the REST API to Restore/Recover the backup. Is there an REST equivalent to the Restore that I typically use in the UI?935Views0likes3CommentsMS-SharePoint policy restore error (2804) .

Hello, I noticed when trying to execute the command bperror -client clientname -d startdate -e enddate ecc, that the output only shows backup with a maximum of 5 days before the specified end date. Even if I use the parameter -hoursago instead of the date, it only shows 5 days before. In the Activity Monitor (Windows), I can go back several days. Atm we are still using Netbackup 9.1.0.1, but will soon be upgrading to 10.4. However, I use the command in a script, which outputs / sends a simple report for only one customer. Atm is the report created with OPSCenter and itsn not profitable for us to buy the IT Analytics addon for the future. I went through some other threads in the Netbackup community and googled the problem but haven't found a solution for this strange problem. I also checked the netbackup config, but there seams everything ok. Maybe someone has a advice or any additional input to help identify the issue.Solved327Views0likes3CommentsImage Duplication Backlog
Hello everyone! I've only recently started working with NetBackup and I've been dealing with it a few weeks now. Now, onto my question regarding duplication and its backlog. Over the weekend, many duplications piled up due to errors or due to the closing of the time window, resulting in them going into an error state. However, these are executed as new jobs until the image is successfully duplicated, which fills up the queue. Regardless of the cause, is there a command or, better yet, a way for me to check if the images causing the errors are present in this job so I can abort them? Thank you in advance for your feedback! Hello, We just lost the 2 guys that were taking care of Netbackup for us and I (no experience) am trying to pick up the slack / learn. Backups that have been running fine for many months stopped running with the two tape drives showing as down. They told me if I saw that the quick fix is to delete the tape / robot, reboot, and add it back. However, when I use the Configure Storage Devices wizard after doing this I can not attach the 2 drives (see attachments). The message is "Drive Address 1 is already occupied by a drive" I went through some other threads in this forum and conducted Google searches but nothing from that is sticking out as a possible fix. Any advice on any additional commands to run to help identify the underlying issue that needs addressed.276Views0likes4Comments
