Changing tmpdir on Linux for v10.5
I've tried adding TMPDIR=/var/tmp/netbackup in /etc/init.d/netbackup and adding TMPDIR and TEMPDIR into /usr/openv/var/global/nbdeployutilconfig.txt These do not change the TMPDIR I am looking at the fapolicyd rules and can see that tools like nbutil and nbhealthchecker create /tmp/par-726f6f74/temp-2527638/nbhealthchecker or /tmp/par-726f6f74/temp-3947960/nbutil This par-726f6f74 seems consistent at the moment, but that may change with the next upgrade, I don't know. If I use the CLIENTS1 installer, I receive this message: ERROR: NetBackup client software for the Linux platform is not on this media. WAL Archive File Protection in NetBackup 9 for PostgreSQL
Hi, In a NetBackup environment for PostgreSQL, I would like to know if it is possible to configure the inclusion of a continuous backup of the WAL archive files in addition to the usual PostgreSQL backup. In the documentation, it is specified that archiving must be enabled (archive_mode = on), but I haven't seen anywhere that it is specified that these are protected by the backup. Could you confirm if the WAL archives are being saved in the backup? Thanks and regardsIs there a way to backup the OS through NetBackup?
I am curious if it is possible to back up the OS using only netbackup software without using bmr or vsr. There are system state and shadow copy components in the backup selection, and I am wondering if it is possible to backup and restore the server OS through these. If you know any ideas or technote addresses, please let me know.
Installing Netbackup 8.0 to Centos 7 - unable to retrieve master certificate
Hello, We have an old physical server that is running CentOS 7, and we need to install Netbackup agent to it to secure our data, We have our master server in Windows Server 2012 R2, so we try to install Netbackup agent 8.0 to our client. the setup was successful. The first thing that we tried to do, is retrieving master server CA Certificate with the command, nbcertcmd getCertificate, but we receive the following error: [root@siege-gea-nas bin]# ./nbcertcmd -getCertificate -server siege-adm-003.domain.local Request to get the certificate deployment level failed. EXIT STATUS 8500: Connection with the web service was not established. we tested network connectivity, and name resolutions and they work correctly. we even made sure that there's no firewall, weither in the master, media servers, or in the centos client. Could you please, tell us what we can do to install the client successfully?
