Windows 10? New software update for Symantec System Recovery 2013 Desktop Edition?
I am currently using Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2 with my Windows 8.1 based desktop PC. I am planning on upgrading to Windows 10 on July 29, 2015 when Windows 10 is released. I've been relying on Norton Ghost and SSR 2013 to do full system images for years. Is Symantec currently working on software for Symantec System Recovery 2013 so that it will be compatible with Windows 10? Will Symantec be offering a FREE update patch to Symantec System Recovery 2013 that will make it compatible with Windows 10? Will it be called Symantec System Recovery 2013 R3 or something else like Symantec System Recovery 2015? I would like to see SSR 2013 tested and certified as compatible with Windows 10 as soon as possible. I would prefer not to have switch to another vendor's system image backup software like Acronis. Their website is saying that you can get a free software update for Windows 10 compatibility for Acronis True Image 2015.34KViews12likes385Comments-Error E0D3EBC0: Cannot deploy the Agent to... (SSR 2013 Desktop Ed. on Windows Pro 2007 64 Bits)
Hello everyone, Please, I need help with this one: when I try to deploy the agent on another laptop on my workgrouop the next error appears: -Error E0D3EBC0: Cannot deploy the Agent to USER-PC. --USER-PC, Exception occurred: Attempt to connect to remote machine failed. Then I use the "reconnect" option on the Symantec System Recovery Service Connection Screen and connection error is displayed. I have eliminated as much Possible Causes as I could: 1)Computer is not connected to the network. (Connected) 2)Firewall of the target computer is ON. (Firewall is off) 3)Supported Backup Exec System Recovery or Symantec System Recovery client is not installed on the target computer. (It is not supposed that an agent can be remotely instaled to my clients??, I'm confused) 4)User credentials are incorrect. (Eliminated cause) 5)UAC (User Access Control) security policy is enabled on the computer. (I'm alouding remote assistance connetions for all computers on my workgoup. Do I need to config anything else? This part is no really clear for me...) Besides of all of this, I've checked thatDistributed COM is enabled on this computer as on all the others. Summarizing, I have no a clue about what I'm doing wrong or what the problem is, hope someone can help me. I thank you in advance.Solved2.9KViews0likes8CommentsBackups Failing - Cannot create recovery points for job
Hi, 1st post. We have recently installed Backup Exec System Recovery 2010 Management Console. We have deployed the Altiris Agent and the Backup Exec 2010 Plug in. We have a mixture of Server 2000/2003/2008R2 servers running BESR 8/8.5 and 2010. There are a group of servers that will not back up, the message they receive is as below (taken from Event Log) Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Fraserburgh Macrae. Error E7D1001F: Unable to write to file. Error EBAB03F1: The specified network name is no longer available. Error E7D10046: Unable to set file size. Error EBAB03F1: The specified network name is no longer available. (UMI:V-281-3215-6071) Details: Source: Backup Exec System Recovery We are backing up across the LAN to a brand new NAS box. Permissions are correct and I can copy backup files between the server and NAS and the other way too. I have also amended the \\server\share to \\ipaddress\share to no avail. I have tried the articles listed via Google but am still at a loss as to what to do. If you are able to help that would be excellent as I have been struggling with Symantec Support for about 6 weeks for various issues with regards this installation. Cheers.Solved2.7KViews2likes7CommentsDoes More than one Techn work at Symantec?????

Hi, I'm using a SSR 2011 Management Solutions. Here i've setup 2 policy's and 1 filter, meaning that a client receives 2 Backup Jobs. Through the Management Agent the SSR 2011 on the client does receive its Jobs. Each Jobs has a different destination. When the first Job has been done succesfully but the second Job has failed. It reports to the home screen that the system has been fully backed up. The Jobs are running every week, but i found a Computer that had missed a job for half an year without reporting that it has missed a job. How do i change this that every missed or failed job is reported. With Kind regards and thanks in forward, Dennis VelthuisSolved2KViews0likes31CommentsSSR Backups constantly fail
I am running SSR2013 on a Windows2012R2 server trying to back up the two local drives to a NAS device with a shadow copy to a USB drive but it costantly fails with the following: --Unable to write to file. ---Error EBAB03F1: Following Operating System error occurred while performing requested operation: 'An unexpected network error occurred.' ---Unable to set file size. ----Error EBAB03F1: Following Operating System error occurred while performing requested operation: 'An unexpected network error occurred.' (UMI:V-281-2001-31) I have checked the following: There is enough hard drive space on the NAS All of the permissions are correct There are no obviously associated event log entries The job starts and creates three ".tmp" files for the bakup of C: and up to 4 ".tmp" file for X: and then it fails. There were about 21 ".tmp" files for the X: drive the one and only time it worked and the system is set to split the files at 9.4GB in size. The server is hosting two Hyper-V guests and the VHDX files are on the X: drive. The annoying thing is that the backup worked once last week (running a base backup) and then we had two differentials as well but this week absolutely nothing will work. I have set it up to create a new base backup each week with Diffs every other day (mon-fri) If anyone has any ideas please let me know.1.9KViews0likes5CommentsP2V migration to VMware ESXi 5.x using System Recovery 2011
I need to do a P2V migration of a SBS 2003 to a VMware ESXi 5.x. We have Symantec System Recovery 2011 installed on the SBS. What's the best way of doing this: Hotclone Run a System Recovery backup (creates a .sv2i and .v2i images) Use System Recovery to restore the .sv2i to the ESXi host OR... Use VMware Converter to convert the .sv2i to the ESXi host Coldclone (is this even possible to an ESXi 5.x?) Boot off supplied Symantec Recovery CD Run backup direct to the ESXi host Is there a preferred method? Any other tips (i.e. hot vs cold clone)? Anything I should watch out for (i.e. DC, Exchange DB)? Many thanks.Solved1.8KViews7likes9CommentsBackupExec 2010 R3 Encryption Key(s)
We will soon be reinstalling Symantec Backup Exec 2010 R3 software due to an OS upgrade to 64bit version. note that this upgrade will be on the exact same server. The server is already 64bit hardware with a 32bit OS. Upgrading OS to 64bit. Here is my primary need: Ineed to make sure where to locate the BackupExec Encryption Keys and how to back them up (Export/Import) or whatever it takes. I also need to know the location forANY configuration files perteninent to the coniguration of BackupExec so I can back them up to be restored on the new server. Is there a PDF document available - or if someone has a minute to provide the details - It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.1.6KViews1like2Comments
