Symantec Backup Exec 3600 Appliance

Hi,

 

I would like to know can we connect the FC Tape Library with BE 3600 R2 Applaince with the help of some converter (Convert FC to SAS).Is This Possible?

Most of your client is interested in Applaince but due to SAS connectivity we are not be able to go with applaince.

    ...only SAS. Although there are expansion ports, there is no mention of FC cards being supported, or any sort of converter (if 1 was even available).

    Don't forget that data is going to be rehydrated when streaming to tape, and a direct-attached tape library won;t impact the LAN during a duplicate-to-tape.

    FC and or SFP might be supported in the future realses but so far its SAS and Ethernet

    ...are you a Symantec employee or do you have information from Symantec to back this up? FC & SFP? AN SFP is what gets plugged into an FC switch...
