RMAN BACKUP - increasing the number of channels

Hi,

 

I have an rman backup running using backup exec 2014. At the level of the servers, we have 4 available channels. How can i encrease the usage from the backup ex side to use the four channels and not one?

Please advise.

    Afaik, a RMAN channel means one stream of data to a device type. So, if you want to use multiple channels, i.e. multi- streams, then you could do it by editing the backup job, choose the Oracle option and increase the max number of devices setting.
