Synology RS814RP+ NAS as Backup Exec 2014 storage point

Hi,

 

Is it possible and supported to use a Synology RS814RP+ NAS as the Backup Exec storage medium?

    Hi Chris,

    Check the BE 2014 HCL on the link below...if it is listed, then it's supported.

    If it isn't, it doesn't mean that it won't work, but it will be an alternative solution which Symantec doesn't have to support.

    If the NAS can do iSCSI, then consider using this as it gets around a lot of security issues you might have. Read my article below on this:

    If the NAS is not listed in the HCL, please run this tool to check if the NAS passes all the tests or not - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH71829

    Thank all. I have found the NAS in question listed in the HCL provided in the link by CraigV.
