Unable to granular exchange restore from tape.

I backed up to tape the public information store. I tried to restore a single message in the pub. information store, but under "Selections" it will not expand the selections list past "public information store." So how do I restore a single exchange message if I cannot select it?

    This is not correct. The best practices guide for exchange says:

    "GRT backup to tape will display granular restore data for Mailboxes only . GRT backup must be written to a B2d device to display granular restore data for Public Folders"

    Thanks, I must have missed that in the guide even thought I reread it several times trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. Seems silly but I guess I'll have to B2D and then backup the backup to tape.
