Enterprise Virtual Vault Error in Outlook 2016

I recently upgraded my OS to Windows 10 from Windows 7. I also upgraded to MS Office 2016 (from MS Office 2010). Finally, I upgraded Enterprise Vault to Version 11 with the Hotfix 3 (From Version 10).

Here's the issue: I can successfully sync my vault with my mailbox, but I'm having a problem adding my vault to Outlook (and accessing my vault files). When I try to add my Virtual Vault to my Outlook Navigation Pane, I get the following error:

  • "Enterprise Vault Could Not Add or Remove the Following Virtual Vaults"

Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

Thanks!

Dan

  • Hi,

Is there any way to subscribe to the latest udpate or release for the EV 11 email Outlook 2016 client ?

  • per the latest compatibility guide released october 10th, windows 10 is supported with EV 11 and Requires Enterprise Vault 11.0.1 with the appropriate hotfix (see http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH232083
on the Symantec Support website). For information about known issues, see
http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC8975 on the Symantec Support website.

support for outlook 2016 is listed as pending for EV11.

  • When will Symantec make Virtual Vault compatible with MS Office 2016 + Windows 10?

  • Make sure you have the actual Internet Explorer application set as default browser. it might be conflicting with the new Edge browser

    1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and then click Search.)

    2. Enter Default programs, and then tap or click Default Programs.

    3. Tap or click Set your default programs.

    4. Select Internet Explorer from the list of programs.

    5. Tap or click Set this program as default, and then tap or click OK.

  • Hi Daniel,

As per the latest Compatibility Matrix dated 4th Sep, MS Outlook 2016 is not listed under supported Windows email clients.
