SharePoint Document Archiving including MetaData

Does anybody know if it is possible to retain the meta data associated with documents (e.g. additional columns in document libraries) when they are archived?

    If I understand your question, yes, the metadata if kept when you archive.

    Hi Tony Thanks for your help regarding this issue. You are correct, it appears that the extra columns in the document library are being recorded in the archive. But I am unable to view these colums until I restore the particular version of the document. Is it possible to view these extra colums for all the versions of a document in the archive? Thanks
