Shortcuts not being created

When I manually archive an e-mail, a shortcut (stub) to the archived item (in the folder in which the newly archived item resides) is not being created. My Exchange Desktop policy is set to create shortcuts. The items are being archived correctly (I can use Vault Explorer and see them) - it's just the shortcuts that aren't being created, and these are vital.

Can anyone help? I'm using Vault 10.0.

    If it is just one user, then try running a provisioning report to confirm the mailbox is where you want it to be.

    Then I would go ahead and disable \ re-enable the user's mailbox.

    1. Disable in VAC

    3. Re-enable in VAC

    What version of Outlook and EV outlook add in? And are you using the full client or http client being used? When you manually archive, do you have a pop up showing which archive to go to and whether or not to create shortcuts? If you're using any http client or using outlook anywhere, you won't see that dialog Also what happens if you archive manually through OWA? Wondering if it's maybe a simple cacheing issue Oh and has this ever worked? Does it effect everyone and does it follow the user form one machine to another?

    Outlook 2010 and EV 10.0.0.1316. HTTP client because as far as I'm aware, only the HTTP client is supported within Outlook 2010.

    We don't actually have the OWA extensions installed yet as we're still in the pilot phase of the project.

    Yes it used to work - only a few weeks ago. We're unsure what has changed. The same behaviour occurs on another client with the same user. I'll attempt a different user tomorrow and advise.

    Are you using multiple provisiong groups?  If so, then check if the user's mailbox is assigned to a provisioning group that points to a different policy which is not configured to create shortcuts.  

    Also, a dtrace of the archive process will be a good way to watch for errors when it tries to create shortcuts.

    Yes, using multiple provisioning groups. Both policies are setup in a very similar fashion - one of the few differences is that one allows deletion of vault items.

    I've tried a few other things and it appears to be only affecting one user. Will try disabling and re-enabling the mailbox.

    Will grab a dtrace too.
