storage service upgrade started...still going.

I was just wondering how long does this step take? it's going on 12hrs now... is there a way to see how far it has come along?

The Storage Service has started the automatic upgrade of the EVMailVaultStore Database. The Storage Service will become fully operational when the
upgrade is complete.

  • If the JournalArchive table has millions upon millions upon millions of rows, then yes, it will take that long
there was another user on here that had 90 million savesets in the JA table and his was 9 hours and going strong

Usually this build up is caused by the fact that in previous versions of EV (EV2007 and earlier), if you have an "Immediately After Archive" set up, then no items would be placed in the JournalArchive table for any long period of time.

But in EV8 and above, it put those items in there until they had been backed up, and because some users never paid attention to those tables and the backup, they didn't realise that the tables were just growing and growing and growing, and the backup software wasn't removing the archive bit and they weren't utilizing the ignoreArchiveBitTrigger.txt file
