Upgrading to EV version 10.0.4 from version 9.0.2

Dear All,

We are planning to upgrade EV version 9.0.2 to 10.0.4.

Our current setup is on Windows 2K8 R2 both ev and SQL server only concern is SQL version which is MS SQL 2005.

HW is good

32 Gb RAM 2 Ghz 4 processors - EV server

8 GB RAM 2 Ghz 2 processors _ SQL server

After meeting the compatibility of EV 10.0.4

 

Can we go ahead for inplace upgrdation?

What would be the progress path?

    You list looks pretty good except you don't need to upgrade Exchange Server forms, just deploy the forms locally with the Client by setting the Desktop Policy.

    Also, if you read the Upgrade_Instructions.pdf that is part of the installation Media you will have all the steps you need.

    Thank you for your reply,

    We are having only mail box archiving and no DA, CA. Iwas refering to same technotes which you have mentioned here.

    Basis on this we are just sharing POA please check that is it Vaild or any change is require.

    Can any one just Valid this POA for inplace upgradation.

    Secure full backup of EV site and EV SQL server
    Change or Upgrade hardware and software prequisites to meet them with EV version 10.0.4
    Run the deployment scanner to check for any compatibility issue or any error
    In case of any error, while running deployment scanner, take corrective step to rectify same.
    Stop all EV and SQL services
    Install software of EV 10.0.4 to upgrade.
    Upgrading the Directory database 
    Starting the Storage service and upgrading the storage databases 
    Upgrading indexing metadata and schema version 
    Backing up the upgraded Enterprise Vault databases 
    Starting all the Enterprise Vault services 
    Upgrading Exchange Server forms 
    Upgrading Enterprise Vault OWA 2010 Extensions

    Hello MontoN,

    You can run SQL Server 2005 SP3/SP4 with Enterprise Vault 10.x:

    Also, you can upgrade from Enterprise Vault 9.0.2 to Enterprise Vault 10.0.4:

    Supported upgrade paths for Enterprise Vault (EV), Compliance Accelerator (CA), Discovery Accelerator (DA) and Discovery Collector (DC)

    If you have CA or DA on your environment, then you need to upgrade these products first, then Enterprise Vault. Take a look at the upgrade guide:

    As with all upgrades you should take a look at:

     

    The Compatibility Guide

    Run Deployment Scanner, and review the output

     

    The Compatibility Guide says that SQL 2005 is supported for EV 10... provided you are using Standard or Enterprise and have SQL 2005 SP 3 or SP 4.
