When will Safari Browser be supported?

Reviewing the website, support for Enterprize Vault and the Safari browser is listed as pending.  Any idea when this will become a reality?  We are using iPad's but cannot get the features which require us to perform the activities on another computer.

  • If I understand compatibility guide correctly then below should be the points those are for safari support.

    1. The Enterprise Vault OWA Extensions (ex 2003/2007/2010) are not supported for OWA client access from Safari or Firefox.

    2. Enterprise Vault Browser Search (search.asp) using Windows authentication works in Safari, which require EV server 10.0 sp2/9.0 SP4 at minimum.  Enterprise Vault Browser Search using Domino authentication has not been tested. You cannot use Archive Explorer or Integrated Search in Safari.

    3. Safari for iPad & Iphone version iOS 6.0 is supported With EV mail-app for exchange 2013, the requirement is to have Exch 2013 CU1 with EV 10.0 SP3 OR Later.

    4. Safari support road map information already supplied by James in link below.

  • I can't say too much, but, there are new features that are coming in EV 11 which will help in this area.

  • Hi,

I agree with Rob. There are chances that Safari might be support in EV 11. EV 11 has new feature for browser.

  • Hi,

I was reviewing the compatibliity guide and under Exchange archiving client compatibility > Web browsers, Safari 6.0 is supported under Enterprise Vault 9.0.4 or later and Enterprise Vault 10.0.2 or later service pack:

You might need to upgrade your Enterprise Vault version to a newest version ro get Safari brwoser support. I hope this helps.

  • GabeV, 3rd October charts?

And isn't that section of your screenshot from the MAC section of the Guide?

  • Rob, It isn't the section as you suggested but I forgot to mention that with Safari for iPad (iOS 6.n) is supported with Enterprise Vault Office Mail App from 10.0.3 and later when you run Exchange 2013:

This chart is in the same page as the chart I posted before. I hope this helps you to clarify any doubt you might have regarding Safari browser.

  • So what does it mean when it says Safari 6 is supported? Archive Explorer, Search?

Also Windows Safari only goes 5.1, so I can only assume that this is Safari 6 on a Mac?

  • I would like to thank everyone for their knowledge an input.  My agency has not upgraded to Exchange 2013, and will not for some time and we utilize OWA.

Thanks once again for the insights!
