HOW TO - configure a SAN based Tape Drive and Libr on a 5220 Appliance
Hello Techies,
Could someone please provide a step by step guide on how to configure a SAN based Tape Drive and Libr on a 5220 Appliance configured as a Media Server to a traditional Master Server.
NBU v7.5
5220 -v2.5
I understand that zoning of tape drive and libr is required but how to go about selecting the HBA port and locating a WWPN from the appliance to zone and the following steps.
thank you to those who reply.

Hope you have the SAN switch in place and below will be the configuration:
1) Connect the appliance FC cable to the SAN switch. Read page 95 of adming guide about "backup to tape support for Netbackup Appliances"
On Netbackup 5200 slot 3 is always used for connection to a tape library(tape out)2) The library and drives should already be connected to the SAN switch.
3) Once you have done the above connection you have to do zoning.

Normally when a HBA is connected to Switch you can see the HBA in the san switch itself to do the configuration. If you want to see the wwn on appliance do the below stpes
On the appliance go to Manage->FiberChannel->Show
FC HBA card(s) are configured correctly.

05:00.1 Slot3 21:00:00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx Linkdown Initiator 8 gbit/sOnce zoning and configuration is done do the Scan
On the appliance go to Manage->FiberChannel->Scan and you should be able to see the configuration.
Run the device configuration wizard on the master server to configure the robot and devices the way you do in normal setup.
