Activity monitor not showing the backup jobs

Hi,

NBU Activity monitor is not showing up the backup jobs which I am starting manually from policy or even if I am restarting the job from the the previous successful backup.

I am using NBU version 7.0.1 on windows 2003 SP2.

  • According to Eventid.net, (http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=1001) it can either be 'Application Error' or 'Application Hang'.

Application Hang is discussed here: http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=1001&eventno=1629&source=Application%20Hang&phase=1

    Application Error: http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=1001&eventno=1628&source=Application%20Error&phase=1

Have you tried to restart or failover NBU?

  • Just to add.. catalog backup also seems to be hung and bytes transfered now is constant and not changeing any more.

  • Are logs getting updated? Check legacy and unified log directories. Also check All Log Entries report for clues. Anything useful in Event Viewer Application and/or System Log? Are all NBU services running? Have you checked system CPU and memory usage?

  • Have you checked for full filesystem on your server? Seems you recently experienced problems due to full filesystems: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/unable-connect-bmr-master-server

EMM will shutdown when this happens to prevent database corruption.

  • Hi Marianne,

I can see the following application error in the event viewer.

    event ID : 1001 - Fault bucket -2060785963.

and it doesn't look like logs are getting updated. Last updated date on logs and images folder are showing same(11:39 AM).

I had full file system issue but that was a week ago.

  • We have clustered master server. All the backup jobs are hung and not running except the SLPs and restore which is running fine.
