BPCD and VNETD multiple processes on Windows client.

Hi,

It's normal that windows client has multiple vnetd and bcpd process instances active, during backup session.
On client server is installed software CrowdStrike, and it block these process if them inject more process sessions

"C:\Program Files\VERITAS\NetBackup\bin\vnetd.exe” inject in “C:\Program Files\VERITAS\NetBackup\bin\vnetd.exe”.

Please someone confirm it's normal operation for Netbackup process?

    Ok for the client.

    I have concerns about your entire installation. Please do not focus on the client. Use the technotes to all netbackup systems. If you do not, you may loose data.

    In general, there are some vnetd and bpcd processes running during the backup.
    How many are there?

      Hi,
      thanks for answer. There are almost 5 vnetd, and 3 bpcd processes during backup.
      Antivirus CrowdStrike think it's abnormal the operation when bpcd or vnet process activates other instances of process.

    If you have Windows MSDP (deduplication), pay attention to the second technical note and especially to the following:
    Ensure any antivirus software is excluding all NetBackup/MSDP volumes/directories and ignoring all NetBackup processes and network traffic. Failure to do this can result in AV deleting dedup .bin files and performance issues.

      Hi,

      it's a simple windows client no msdp, so if it's normal for multiple bpcd and vnetd process instances during backup, we will configure CrowdStrike in order to avoid issues.
