GENERAL ERROR: "Unable to obtain display for device monitor, Error:java.lang.nullpointer.exception"

Hi, how are you.

I have a problem opening the netbackup console I get this

GENERAL ERROR: "Unable to obtain display for device monitor, Error:java.lang.nullpointer.exception" is displayed when clicking on Device Monitor in the Windows Netbackup Java GUI.

I already did the article steps.

Update the java version on the server master.         Java version "1.8.0_131"

I can see the menus but on media I can not make a Inventory Robot

The server master is Linux Red hat. 6.1

Version de netbackup is 7.7.1

  • Has this worked fine before?
If so, when did it stop working?

If it was working fine before and nothing was changed in NBU, then it remains a valid question - what has changed in the environment?

Can you confirm that port 1556 is open in both directions between the master and Windows desktops?
Is Windows firewall disabled on the desktops?
Is iptables stopped and disabled on the master?

Is there a chance you can upgrade to 7.7.3 or 8.0?
