listing protected VMs and databases by NBU

hello,

it there any way to generate a report from NBU (version 10.2.0.1) or from ITAnalytics to show the list of protected VMs and protected databases, also to show non-pritected VMs and non-protected databases instances (SQL, Oracle..)

thanks

  • Sorry about the command nboraadm/nbsqladm path, the correct path is:  /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/

  • The nboraadm command can list Oracle RAC databases, and single instances as part of an Oracle backup policy.

The nboraadm command performs the following operations:

-list_instances lists all Oracle instances in the repository.

-list_rac_instances lists all the instances that NetBackup can identify as Oracle RAC.

Here's the path about nboraadm command on the master/media server:

    /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/    (unix/linux)

    INSTALL_PATH\netbackup\bin\admincmd\  (Windows)

  • The nbsqladm command list SQL Server instances, and availability groups for use with a SQL Server Intelligent Policy.

The nbsqladm command performs the following operations:

-list_instances lists all SQL SERVER instances in the repository.

-list_availability_groups lists the SQL Server availability groups in the NetBackup catalog.

Here's the path about nbsqladm command on the master/media server:

    /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/    (unix/linux)

    INSTALL_PATH\netbackup\bin\admincmd\  (Windows)

  • thanks Will for your reply, these commands will list all SQL/Oracle instances that are detected by NBU through client registration or credentials management but they doesnt show details if new instances are protected, the same apply for new VMware VMs. the VMs which are not added to a VM VIP or query will not be detected and protected by NBU
