NetBackup Storage Lifecycle Manager does not start.

Hi. I have the similiar problem and need help.

I see this thread: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/netbackup-storage-lifecycle-manager-and-vault-manager-does-not-start

My environmant: OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise; MasterServer NBU version: 7.5.0.6 "Old" installation. No any changes in last few weeks in infrastructure.

.  I've stopped NBU processes by bpdown as Administrator and start bpup -f -v

  • Not sure why we did not see this post earlier.

This is obviously the problem, but we need to understand why...

I have experienced something similar some time ago on a Solaris master server:
      https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/slps-stopped-processing

We found nbstserv kept on terminating...
Nothing logged in nbstserv log folder

Long story short - we found that nblog.conf was corrupt and copied the file from a media server.

nbstserv (NetBackup Storage Lifecycle Manager service) could be started once nblog.conf was fixed. Duplications immediately started kicking in.
