Removing Access/Authorization control

I seemed to have misconfigured access/authorization controls. Now upon opening the NBU admin console I recieve the following error;

"Error in configuration. There is no Symantec Product Authentication & Authorization broker set on the local system or remote system. Attempting to connect automatically"

After hitting 'OK', I am unable to change the master server properties (Host properties > Master Server > properties). I get the following error;

"Access denied"

Anyway I can remove this configuration via CLI or conf files since GUI is unavailable.

BTW, Win2k8 R2 and NBU 7.0

  • For future reference, you can change this setting in the registry to disable NBAC (AT/AZ)

    HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\VERITAS\NetBackup\CurrentVersion\Config

    Change USE_VXSS to PROHIBITED

  • Nevermind....

    Used 'bpnbat.exe -Login' to supply local credentials. That did the trick!

    HTH someone in the same situation.
