Why netbackup show images with 5120000 kilobytes ?
Hello Everyone,
As many of you know, when you run a report on Image on disks, you have all images that are stored on disks, with additonal informations, like size, policy, policy type and much more.
But the problem here, as you can read in the title, is that a lot of images have the value 51200000 on the size column or sometimes 51200253, is there an explanation of this?
Thanks for your help.
Sound like the Netbackup fragment size to me - take a look in the storage unit configuration.
51200000 = 50 GiB
Netbackup split backup's in fragments, in order to get manageable files sizes. Especially back from the day where most file systems had a 2 TB limitation. So if a backup is 200 GiB, you would have at least 4 fragment files with backup data on a media server if fragment size is set 50 GB.
