Symantec Backup Exec (System Recovery 8.5 Manager)

hi guys, any links or overview you can provide for this softwares below:

Symantec Backup Exec - System Recover 8.5 Manager

Symantec Backup Exec - System Recovery 8.5 - Granular Restore Option

 

What does it do? What's the difference for those two software?

Does it has to be installed on the same server running Symantec Backup Exec 12.5?

Please help guys.

    This is an older very of Symantec System Recovery. This a seperate backup and recovery solution and can be installed on servers. As for the features, click on this link

    The Granular Restore Option works with Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery to provide granular restore capabilities.

    • Recover Exchange mailboxes, folders, messages or attachments in seconds—without requiring full mailbox backups—then forward directly through Outlook if desired.
    • Recover Microsoft SharePoint Server documents in seconds from a single system recovery point
    • Restore files and folders in seconds with the ability to search multiple recovery points at the same time

    The Granular Restore Option provides recovery of individual emails, files and data for the following applications:

    • Microsoft Exchange 2003 and 2007
    • Microsoft SharePoint 2003 and 2007
    • File and folder data

    Centralized management capabilities in Backup Exec System Recovery Manager simplify administration by providing IT administrators with an at-a-glance view of system recovery jobs across your entire organization. You can centrally deploy, modify and maintain recovery activities, jobs, and policies for local and remote systems; monitor real-time status; and quickly resolve any problems identified. You can also create reports to analyze trends over time.

    • Simplifies administration of multiple servers, desktops and laptops.
    • Delivers reporting functionality and trend analysis views.
    • Scales from small businesses to larger Windows environments.
